One passenger killed in Mexico City metro crash

At least one person died and 57 were injured after the collision of two trains in the Mexican capital Saturday. One person died in the incident and 57 people were injured, some with minor injuries, and were taken to seven hospitals in the city according to the Mexico City mayor. She added four other people were trapped in the trains and were later rescued.

The surroundings of the stations where the crash occurred were taken over by a hundred police, military personnel and rescue teams. The Mexico City subway system has 226.5 kilometers of track and 195 stations. It serves an average of 4.6 million passengers every day.
