A woman died in Pontiac, Quebec on Saturday after floodwaters washed away part of a road she was driving on, according to police.

Canadian Armed Forces were dispatched to help local communities prepare for flooding, as rains continued to pour down over the eastern part of the country. Pontiac and two other municipalities in the Outaouais region declared states of emergency on Friday because of flooding, according to the CBC.
