Olympic Torch Relay Begins in Rome for 2026 Winter Games

The Olympic flame passed through Rome as the torch relay for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics officially began. The relay will span 12,000 kilometres and travel through 300 cities over 63 days. Athletes, artists and selected members of the public will share carrying duties as the flame moves north toward Milan. It is scheduled to reach the host city on February 5, ahead of the Games’ opening ceremony.
