Oil Sufficiency And Export: Union Minister Meets With Entrepreneurs In Yangon

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo on Saturday attended a meeting with oil, bean, oil mill plant and sesame entrepreneurs at the UMFCCI in Yangon.

In his address, the Union Minister urged the entrepreneurs to make production to meet the market demand, to be sufficient in the country and to export as well as to make more investments in the modern oil mill plants.

He also called for preparations for sunflower plantation for cooking oil. This meeting continued with discussions on cooking oil production, consumption, establishment of sunflower plantation zones and sunflower oil production.

It is learnt that the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation has been cooperating with other ministries to accelerate the sunflower plantation for cooking oil.
