Offering Rice and Cooking Oil: Sagaing Region Gov. donated rice and cooking oil

A ceremony to offer rice and cooking oil by the Sagaing Region Government, with the intention of enabling the members of Sangha at the Shwetaung-U Tipitaka Dhamma Pala Mahavihara Monastery in Shwetaung-U, Yinmabin Township, Yinmabin District, Sagaing Region, to practice and proliferate Pariyatti (scriptural learning) and Patipatti (practicing meditation), with peace of mind, was held in the monastery's Dhamma Vinaya Dhamma Hall on the morning of January 6.

The ceremony was attended by Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, Region Government members, department officials from the region, district, and township levels, and the chairpersons and responsible officials of the administrative and management committees of Monywa District/Townships.

First, the Chief Minister and guests took the Five Precepts from the presiding Sayadaw of the Shwetaung-U Tipitaka Dhamma Pala Mahavihara Monastery.

Subsequently, the Region Chief Minister and Region Government members offered the various items for donation, including rice and oil, to the invited members of Sangha.

Then, the Region Chief Minister and guests listened to a discourse of appreciation from the presiding Sayadaw of the Shwetaung-U Tipitaka Dhamma Pala Mahavihara Monastery and shared the merits gained by pouring water in dedication for the collective merit of the offerings.

The Sagaing Region Government offered 30 (24 pyi) bags of rice and 50 viss of cooking oil to the members of Sangha at the Monastery in Shwetaungu, Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region.
