Offering 9,000 oil lamps: Shan State CM participated in the ceremony

The ceremony of offering 9,000 oil lamps to the Culamuni Lawka Chanthar pagoda at 6 PM on the full moon day Tabaung which falls on 5th March was held at the pagoda platform in Taunggyi Township of Shan State (South).

At the ceremony, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye and wife, state high court chief justice, state ministers, state advocate general, secretary of state government and departmental officials offered flowers, water and oil lamp to the Buddha image resided in the cave of Culamuni Lawka Chanthar pagoda, lighted the 9,000 oil lamps, paid homage to the pagoda in the clockwise direction, distributed foodstuff to the local pilgrims, provided cash to the Shan traditional cultural group and Pa-O traditional cultural group who performed at the ceremony and the local music bands and launched the hot balloons, it’s reported.
