NSPNC hosted meeting: Meeing between NSPNC and NCA signatory EAOs held

A meeting between the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee and seven NCA-signatory EAOs took place at the NSPNC centre in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 13th February.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of NSPNC, Union Minister for Border Affairs  Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and committee members, member of Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) Khun Okkar, Chair of the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) Saw Mra Raza Lin, Vice-Chair of the KNU/KNLA-Peace Council Dr Naw Kapaw Htoo, Secretary of the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) Kyar Yar Koke, Head of Relations Department of the Democratic Kayin Benevolent Army (DKBA) Saw Kyaw Than Htay, member of Central Committee of New Mon State Party (NMSP) Nai Banyamon, Nang Moe Moe San, Central Steering Committee member from the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) and Second-Incharge of the Liason Office of Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO) Khun Teelar.

Chairman of NSPNC Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and Dr. Naw Kapaw Htoo, Vice-Chair of the KNU/KNLA-Peace Council, extended greetings on behalf of the ethnic armed groups participating in the meeting.

Subsequently, the approaches that should collaborate for the peace of the country, the peace process to be continued, issues of humanitarian assistance, the stance of the organizations on the regional development were cordially discussed and views on the suggestions were exchanged.

Then, the member of PPSt Khun Okkar on behalf of the ethnic armed groups participating in the meeting and Chairman of NSPNC Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung extended closing remarks and exchanged gifts.

At the meeting, the attendees unanimously stated that the current armed conflicts are to be solved exchanging dialogue at the peace roundtable intending to the interest of the ethnic people and the armed groups are called for the protection of civilions who need the humanitarian assistance, receiving assistances as fast as possible.
