Novitiation ceremony: Novitiation ceremony of 5000 novices held

Under the guidance of ThephyuTawya Dhamma Yeiktha and MahamyaingTawya Dhamma YeikthaSayadawgyi Dr. Baddanta Pannajota, jointly organized by the Magway Region Government and the disciples of Sayadaygyi, the novitiation ceremony of 5000 Buddhist novices and merit sharing ceremony was held the Central Pandal near Shwe Yaung Taw Pagoda in Pyu Ancient City of Beikthano in Taungtwingyi Township in the morning on 7th April.

The ceremony was attended by the Rector Sayadaw of State Pariyatti Sasana University (Yangon) and ThephyuTawya Dhamma Yeiktha and MahamyaingTawya Dhamma YeikthaSayadawgyi, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin and wife, Commander of Central Command and wife, Commander of West Air Base Headquarters, region ministers, region/district/Township departmental officials.

First, the congregation observed five precepts administered by the Rector Sayadawgyi of State Pariyatti()Sasana University (Yangon) and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha.

Next, the cash donations and offertories including 50 million Kyats donated by the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister, 103.3 million Kyats by Magway Region Government and well-wishers were offered to the members of Sangha and presented certificate of honor.

After that, the region Chief minister and officials offered day meal to the members of sangha and novices, took the sermon from the Let Pan Sarthintaik Sayadaw, shared the merits gain and the ceremony was concluded.

After the ceremony, ThephyuSayadawgyi, Chief Minister, Commander of Central Command and officials inspected the regional development works implementing with the contribution of Thephyu Sayadawgyi including 180 feet long Saton Creek Bailey Bridge, upgrading of Saton cannel and cultivations along the Yan Pal Creek, ThephyuSayadawgyi supplemented requirements in responding to the clarifications of the officials concerned.
