Novitiation Ceremony: Celebration held in Nay Pyi Taw

The Ministsry of Cooperatives and Rural Development organized the 2nd Novitiation Ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw. The first day of the ceremony was held on 6th May with the procession from the Ministry to Uppa Sandhi Pagoda.

The novices, monk-to-be and nun-to-be as well as the guests were served with luncheon. The ceremony continued in the afternoon with the attendance of the Union Minister. At night, the traditional orchestra entertained the audience.

The 2nd day ceremony continued with the attendance of members of the State Administration Council, Union Ministers, the Deputy Ministers and their wives and invited guests. After performing the religious rituals according to the procedures, the Union Minister an party donated offertories to the members of the Sangha.

Then the merits were shared before concluding the ceremony. The Union Minister and party later offered day meal and offertories to the Sayadaws and members of the Sangha.
