Notification No. 95/2025: Cancellation of party registration and dissolution

The Republic of the Union of Myanmar Union Election Commission issued Notification No. 95/2025 regarding cancellation of registration as a political party and dissolution of parties on September 9, 2025.

In the announcement, it’s stated that the Union Election Commission had previously announced through Announcement No. 56/2025 on August 20, 2025, that political parties were required to meet the specified number of party members and party offices as per sections 5(f) and 5(h) of the Political Parties Registration Law, with the final submission date being September 7, 2025.

Under the Political Parties Registration Law, Section 12, Subsections (a), and Sub-subsection (9) and (10), the registration of National Democratic Force Party (NDF) failed to meet the required number of party members as stipulated in Section 5, Subsection (f) by the deadline of September 7, 2025 and the Democratic Party of National Politics (DNP), the Women's Party (Mon), and the Union Farmers and Workers Force Party all failed to meet the required number of party offices as stipulated in Section 5, Subsection (h) by the same deadline, has been revoked and the parties dissolved, effective September 9, 2025.
