Norway inaugurates memorial to the victims of neo-Nazi 2011 massacre

Norway's Crown Prince Haakon was among those in attendance of the inauguration of a national memorial site in Oslo's government quarter for the victims of neo-Nazi Anders Behring Breivik's 2011 massacre.

The memorial, titled "Upholding," was created by Norwegian artist Matias Faldbakken. It features a monumental stone mosaic set within a steel frame, with the names and ages of the 77 victims cut into its base beam. The memorial stands in the Government Quarter, close to where the first of the two attacks took place.

On July 22, 2011, the right-wing extremist terrorist set off a bomb in a van near the government complex killing eight people, before gunning down 69 others, mostly teens, at a youth wing summer camp on the island of Utoya.
