Northern California battles ravaging wildfire

Thousands of people have been ordered to evacuate as a wildfire rages out of control in northern California. Flames engulf homes and vehicles as wildfires rage, sending temperatures soaring and forcing evacuations. Firefighters and helicopters are working to put out the fire.

More than 3,500 acres of grass and woodland have been consumed since July 2 when a blaze erupted just outside Oroville. More than a dozen other wildfire s, mostly small, are active across the state, according to the California Department of Forestry and fire Protection.
