North Korean athletes leave for Paris Olympics

The athletes' village for the Paris Olympics and Paralympics officially opened and welcomed its first inhabitants on Thursday. The village to the north of Paris will house nearly 14,500 people, including 9,000 athletes, at its peak.

North Korean athletes and the country's minister of Physical Culture and Sports Kim Il Guk set out on Saturday for the Paris Olympics which kicks off on July 26. Athletes and staff members from Germany, Belgium, India and Brazil, Refugee Olympic team also arrived at the Paris 2024 Summer Games' Olympic Village.
