North Korea has staged a military parade on Friday night to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of the ruling Workers' Party. During the event, the North unveiled what it calls the new intercontinental ballistic missile Hwasong-20. The country describes the ICBM as the most powerful nuclear strategic weapon system.

Kim declared that the party and the government will continue to oppose injustice and hegemony, and fulfill their responsibility to protect justice and peace. Meanwhile, the US and South Korean militaries are conducting detailed analyses of the weapons displayed in the parade.
