North Korean media reported the country's military conducted a "hypersonic missile" launching drill on Sunday, overseen by leader Kim Jong Un. State-run Korean Central Television stated on Monday that hypersonic missiles launched from Pyongyang hit targets 1,000 kilometers off North Korea's east coast.
It described the drill as part of an operational evaluation of the country's war deterrent. Kim reportedly commended the missile soldiers for demonstrating the readiness of the country's nuclear forces "without regret." He noted that the drill aimed to gradually advance the country's nuclear war deterrent to a higher level.
