Multiple Russian sources said North Korea will take part in the Victory Day parade in Moscow in May. The event marks the former Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany.

Other diplomatic sources say a North Korean military band will take part in a music event in the Russian capital in late August.

The North Korean military would be participating in these events for the first time. On Wednesday, Russian defense minister Andrei Belousov said that military units from 19 friendly countries have been invited to the Victory Day parade. He said 10 of them have already confirmed their participation, but did not mention the names of the countries.
