North Carolina officials: 4 survive medical helicopter crash

Authorities and emergency officials in Macon County said a medical helicopter crashed in western North Carolina on Thursday evening. Macon County Sheriff told North Carolina TV station WLOS that the helicopter was heading to a hospital, and all four people on board survived.

Macon County Emergency Services Director told that the helicopter was carrying three crew members and one patient. He said that three of the four people were taken to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries, and that one was taken to be evaluated. He also said that the aircraft was severely damaged, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
