The Colombian Constitutional Court upheld a landmark decision animal rights and ethics in cultural traditions. On Thursday, the high court upheld Law 2385 of 2024, known as the No More Olé Law, which prohibits bullfighting in the country and also ordered the total restriction of horseback riding, bullfighting, corralejas, and cockfights.

The decision, which ends a long struggle between animal rights defenders and those advocating for the preservation of these traditions, marks a milestone in Colombian legislation. In a unanimous ruling, the Court affirmed that the animal abuse practices inherent in these activities violate the constitutional principles of human dignity and the well-being of living beings.
