Residents of the embattled Gaza Strip have gone more than 10 weeks without receiving any humanitarian aid or supplies since Israeli authorities imposed a blockade on the enclave on March 2, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said in a report.
The report, released on Saturday, noted that flour and food parcels provided by UNRWA have run out, and essential medical supplies have been depleted by more than a third. UNRWA Commissioner-General said, if humanitarian aid continues to be blocked from entering Gaza, increasing numbers of people may die in the coming weeks, not just because of intensified Israeli attacks, but also because of a severe lack of food.
