N.Korea marks 80th anniversary of party founding

North Korea held a large scale event in Pyongyang Thursday evening celebrating the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

In a speech, leader Kim Jong-un said the North was resolutely standing up to hostile nations and its international prestige was strengthening. Guests attending the event which featured fireworks display and mass games included Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Russian Security Council deputy chairman Dmitry Medvedev.
