Nine-year-old Thai tattooist makes his mark

Nine-year-old Napat Mitmakorn showcased his tattooing skills at a Bangkok tattoo expo, impressing attendees with a fanged serpent design on a man's upper thigh.

Napat, who learned the craft from his father, explained that his interest in tattoos started after he became addicted to his mobile phone. His work, performed with oversized gloves, drew admiration for his skill at such a young age. A tattoo artist from England Richard Beston shared his thoughts on the tattoo industry in Asia.

Richard Beston, tattoo artist said  "The tattoo industry is more vibrant here. The clients are more accepting for doing bigger, crazier stuff, and the skin's nicer. Because of the diet, there's more moisture in the Asian diet than there is, you don't eat a load of bread and potatoes. So the skin, yeah, more noodles, the skin is way better."

Beston’s comments highlighted how the skin quality in the region benefits the art form, making it easier to work on compared to other areas.
