

180 migrants have been rescued by the crew of a rescue ship in the southern Mediterranean Sea, according to the NGO which runs it.
Named "Humanity 1", the new ship of the Berlin based search and rescue organisation "Humanity SOS",has been sailing in international waters between Malta and Libya.
The migrants were rescued last week in five different operations, between October 22ndand 26th. 179 are still on board as one migrant was evacuated on October 27 to receive medical attention on land.
"Humanity 1" is currently waiting for permission to sail to a safe port and disembark the rescued people.According to the NGO the ship has already demanded a safe port five times and received a negative answer each time.
