New Year Paritta Recitation: SAC holds New Year Paritta recitation, listening ceremony

The State Administration Council held a ceremony to listen to the Paritta recitation on the occasion of the Myanmar New Year on Monday. The ceremony was attended by members of the Sangha and Secretary of the State Administration Council Lt-Gen Aung Lin Dwe, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun, permanent secretaries and directors-general and many other officials.

At the ceremony, the congregation received the Nine Precepts from the members of the Sangha and listened to the sermons recited. And, the SAC Secretary, the deputy minister, the permanent secretaries and the directors-general presented the members of the Sangha with offerings.

This ceremony was concluded by sharing the merits gained. Also, the deputy minister, the permanent secretaries and the directors-general offered day meal to the members of the Sangha. At noon on the same day, the members of the Sangha flew over the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area in a helicopter, and recited the Paritta and sprayed Paritta water, praying for the wellbeing of Myanmar citizens and people around the world.
