New Year Greetings: SAC Chairman extends greetings on the New Year Day

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing extended New Year Greetings on April 17th, the Myanmar New Year Day.

In his greetings, the Prime Minister wished for physical and mental health of all entire people residing in Myanmar during the time of transition to 1387 Myanmar New Year. He stressed that the country has faced two natural disasters during the previous year, causing extensive damages by the flood, triggered by the Typhone Yagi, while having significant loss of lives and properties by the severe Mandalay earthquake.

The Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the humanitarian assistance and relief supplies provided by the international communities, along with the local organizations. He pledged to implement the reconstruction and rehabilitation works in quake-hit areas, calling for collective strength of all entire people for speedy recovery.

He also reiterated the government’s efforts to hold free and fair multi party democratic general election in coming December, and urged all to cooperate for successful holding of the election. He also emphasized to strive for development of agriculture and livestock sector as well as for MSME development while implementing the reconstruction and rehabilitation works. Highlighting the importance of education sector in nation development endeavours, the Prime Minister called for participation of all people to ensure pursuing education for all school-going-aged children.

He added that the government has extended invitation to tackle the political conflict by mean of political way to end the conflict, and achieve the lasting peace. All national brethren are urged to cooperate based on the concept of Union Spirit. The Prime Minister called for cooperation of all entire people in marching towards to a multiparty democratic system, overcoming the challenges and obstacles.
