





As the Myanmar New Year Donation, the Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group held a Paritta recitation listening ceremony and donated offertories to members of the Sangha at the Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group (Central) on April 17, the Myanmar New Year Day.
The Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group is comprised of the four major religions- Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism and Christianity. The 1385 Myanmar New YearDay is a great day for Buddhists. On that significant day, taking Sabbath, offering alms to members of the Sangha and listening to the Paritta recitation were carried out across the country.
Chairman, Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group, Wunna, said " All the members of our Group participated in this ceremony held in accord with the traditions of Buddhism. Adherents of Hinduism, Islam and Christianity also came to listen to the Paritta recitation. We all attend religious festivals of each other."
Vice Chairman, Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group, Thiri Pyanchi Zaw Zaw Naingm, said " We invited members of the Sangha and donated offertories and foods. On the occasion of the New Year, I wish our country Myanmar peace and development."
Associate secretary, Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group, Khin Khin May, said " Even though I am a Christian, I attend the Buddhism-related ceremonies because our group conduct the activities altogether and we will keep collaboration in the future."
The Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Group welcomed the Myanmar New Year by doing meritorious deeds such as listening to the Paritta recitation, donating robes and offertories to the members of the Sangha.
