New Year countdown festival: Crowds gathered in the cities for New Year Countdown

As the year 2024 came to an end and the world joyfully ushered in the year 2025, Myanmar also celebrated this momentous occasion with festive events in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, and other major cities, alongside various performances.

The country welcomed the new year with unity and joy, just like the international celebrations held across the globe. In Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, and Mandalay, residents began celebrating in the evening, preparing to welcome the New Year with families and friends in joyful gatherings, eagerly waiting for the countdown to the new year.

In Nay Pyi Taw, a musical event was organized this evening at the Wunna Theikdi Sports Complex (Training Field 1 and 2) for local people, department employees, and their families. The event was intended to bring relaxation and fresh energy while celebrating the transition to the new year.

The public, employees, and their families enjoyed the event, filling the venue with lively participation. In Yangon, a music concert together with trade fairs, charity feast was organized for the people to celebrate the new year joyfully, and it took place in the People’ Park of the city. With a combination of modern music and DJ performances, the concert with performances by famous singers energized the atmosphere, making the New Year celebration even more vibrant.

People from various regions joined together, sharing the moment with love and friendship as they welcomed the new year.

Additionally, to allow more people from surrounding areas to join in the celebration, New Year's events were held in Nay Pyi Taw starting at 5 PM, in Yangon starting from noon, and in Mandalay starting at 6 PM.

These events featured performances by famous singers, creating a festive atmosphere as people celebrated together. To accommodate the attendees, food stalls, clothing shops, and restaurants were set up, and arrangements were made for systematic parking of cars and motorcycles.
