Cancer patients who are allergic to chemotherapy are at risk of not being able to continue with vital treatment, at least up until now. The Allergy Center at Odense University Hospital (OUH) in Denmark has succeeded in developing a new type of treatment for patients allergic to chemotherapy.
The chemotherapy is the same as before, but the pace has been slowed down. A treatment that could be done in one hour now takes about five hours. Thereby, cancer patients can continue the medication without getting sicker from it.So far, the treatment has a 100% success rate and is now being introduced as a general offer at OUH.
