New Market: Inauguration of new Thiri Mingala Market in Loikaw

New Thiri Mingala Market was inaugurated in Loikaw on Friday. Chief Minister of Kayah State U Zaw Myo Tin attended the opening ceremony of the newly constructed market and made a speech, calling for cooperation of all individuals for long term durability of the new facility.

Over 900 shops in the market were destroyed due to the arson attack by the terrorists in December 2023. For better flow commodities and convenience of the public, the State Government funded for construction of the new market which commenced in July 2024.

The first phase of the construction has completed, with the opening of 436 shops and further construction will be made for the remaining shops. The new market is equipped with the basic infrastructures including asphalt paving road, water and power supply, drainage system and car parking. In addition, fire extinguishing system has been installed for safety of fire.
