New Hospital Annex: SAC Secretary attended inauguration of new hospital annex

The opening ceremony of 9-storey hospital building of the People’s Hospital in Pathein was held on 17th December and attended by Secretary of the State Administration Council Lt. Gen. Aung Lin Dwe, Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, Commander of South-West Command Brigadier General Kyi Khaing, Deputy Minister for Construction U Win Pe and departmental officials.

First, the Union Minister, Chief Minister, Commander, deputy minister and Director General Dr. Myat Wunna Soe opened the new hospital building by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

Next, secretary of the State Administration Council Lt. Gen. Aung Lin Dwe unveiled the new hospital building signboard and bronze inscription by pressing the auto button.

Then, the SAC secretary and officials sprinkled the bronze inscription with scented water and posed for documentary photo and inspected the medical equipments installed in the ICU, Blood Bank and blood donation room, hospital laboratory, preparations of operation theater and hospital wards.

In his opening speech at the Multifunction Hall, SAC Secretary Lt. Gen. Aung Lin Dwe said it’s auspicious day which is full of national essence for being able to opening the new 9-storey hospital building of Pathein People’s Hospital by hailing and honoring the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day which falls on 4th of January.

During the State Administration Council taking state responsibilities, the annex in Hinthata, Hpa-An, Magwe, Monywa and Wei Bar Gi specialty Hospital in Yangon were enabled to open.

This 9-storey hospital building in Pathein People’s Hospital was constructed spending over 22 billion Kyats of State Budget Allocation on the 2.23 acres of land.

The head of state himself inspected the construction of this 9-storey hospital building during July, 2022 and gave guidance to implement in the consideration of completing within a set time, focusing on the good quality, possible emergency cases and the patients to undergo the medical treatment with a mind in peace.

For the completion of construction works in line with the guidance, the region government, ministry of health, responsible officials from the ministry of construction, contributors from each departments and Township elders are greatly thankful.

Next, the Union Minister for Health said the ministry is implementing the strategic plans of enabling every citizen to attain full life expectancy and enjoy longevity of life and ensuring that every citizen is free from diseases.

Out of 1178 hospitals under the Ministry of Health across the nation, there are 133 hospitals in Ayeyarwady Region. All hospitals are regularly operating and averages of 3,000 in-patients per day are being provided medical service.

The Pathein People’s Hospital has given medical service to over 70,000 in-patients and over 60,000 out-patients during 2022. And he urged to put collective efforts for the sustainable development of the hospital by the township elders and health personnel.

Then, the deputy minister of construction clarified the data regarding the construction and the documents related to the building were transferred to the director general by the assistant director (Civil) from the Building Department.

Next, the Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister expressed words of thanks. After presenting the memorable gifts to attendee guests commemorating the opening ceremony by the region head officer of the Department of Public Health/ Medical Service Dr. Zaw Min Tun and Hospital Medical Superintendant Dr. Kyaw Zin, the opening ceremony was concluded.
