Josh Green has been sworn in as Hawaii's new governor.

He immediately vowed to address homelessness and housing, and ask the Legislature to help eliminate the state's taxes on food and medication.

Gov. Josh Green, (D) Hawaii said ”With will and determination, we'll also do another thing, we'll turn the thousands of illegal Airbnbs into affordable rentals so our regular people can just afford to live in our communities." Green said in his inaugural address Monday that he wants to get rid of regressive taxes. He also vowed to encourage the construction of more housing for residents.
