New Harvest Festival: SAC Member attends event of Asho Chin people

Member of the State Administration Council Phado Mahn Nyein Maung, Ayeyawaddy Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and many other officials attended the new harvest festival of the Asho Chin people on December 16.

The SAC Member and the Chief Minister gave speeches at the event at the AyaU Hall in Kyangin Township.

The Asho Chin traditional New Year festival is held every year since time immemorial at the time of the harvest. It’s a festival to express gratitude to their parents and grandparents and a belief to enjoy good health, have a bountiful harvest, and raise domestic animals at manageable scale.

On the same day, the SAC Member, the Chief Minister and officials inspected paddy plantation in KaYinSu Village of ThaukKyarDuu Village-tract, held talks with farmers and gave necessary instructions.
