New Facility: Water Pumping Station opened in Hlegu Township

In commemorating the 62ndanniversary Peasants’ Day, opening ceremony of Solar-powered Sin Phone Water Pumping Station was held near Sin Phone village, Hlegu Township in Yangon Region on Friday.

After the event was formally opened by cutting the ribbon, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and party toured around the site. In 2023-2024 fiscal year, a set of 110 KW Solar System was installed at Sin Phone electric water pumping station by regional development fund of the Yangon Region Government, and can distribute water to 1,016 acres of summer paddy fields with the solar system.Since the facility used solar system, 77,000 kWh of electric meter units have been saved, along with the average cost of 11.55 million kyats for electricity bill.

These saving costs have been contributed in other water pumping works during summer paddy cultivation season.
