New Facility: Stake Driving Ceremony held for new Underpass

With the guidance of Yangon Region Government, Yangon City Development Committee is going to construct the Underpass in on U Wizara Road, connecting Shwedagon Pagoda Western Stairway and People’s Square in Dagon Township.

A Stake Driving Ceremony for construction of the Underpass was held at the venue on Thursday, with the attendance of Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials who drove the stakes at the auspicious time and sprinkled scented water on the stakes. The new Underpass will be a 23 ft wide, and 461 ft and 9 inches long facility with 4 exits, 4 escalators and 2 elevators. The project period is expected to last 14 months.
