





The new two-storey building was officially inaugurated at Taikkyi Township People's Hospital on Friday in honor of the 80th Anniversary Armed Forces Day.
Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win attended the event, together with other relevant officials. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, along with the unveiling of the hospital's signboard. The Union Minister and party then toured the newly opened facility. The event then proceeded to its second part with the Union Minister’s opening speech.
In his speech, the Union Minister highlighted the Ministry’s initiatives to enhance the health sector, ensuring widespread public benefit. He also emphasized the newly facility’s role in enhancing patient care and urged efforts to sustain the hospital’s reputation while encouraging healthcare personnel' community engagement.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein then underscored the continued region government support to fulfill future needs. This was followed by the handover of facility documents and the presentation of commemorative gifts. Established in 1979, Taikkyi Township People's Hospital further expanded its newly facility funded by the Ministry of Health. Construction began in May 2024 and was completed by February 2025, including an operation and delivery rooms, along with essential equipment and patient furnishings.
