New Facility: EV Charging Station opened in Mandalay

EV Charging Station, situated at the corner of 35thstreet and Strand Road (Gaw Wein Jetty) in Mandalay was inaugurated on Sunday.

Chairman of the Electric Vehicles Operating and Basic Infrastructures Implementation Work Committee Deputy Minister for Construction U Win Pe attended the opening ceremony and made a speech.

Under the guidance of the Steering Committee on the National-level Development of Electric Vehicles and Related Industries, a total of 31 EV Charging Stations have been implemented as pilot projects. These facilities include six in Nay Pyi Taw, eight in Yangon, eight in Mandalay, and nine along the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway.

The newly opened facility is the 20th one in the country. The stations in Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw, and Mandalay have the capacity to charge 10 vehicles simultaneously, while those along the expressway can charge ten private vehicles and four passenger buses. Plans are underway to open more EV Charging Stations on the major roads of the country.
