New Buddha Museum in Pyay: Buddha Museum of ShweSandaw Pagoda inaugurated

The Buddha Museum of Shwe Sandaw Pagoda was inaugurated at the pagoda in Pyay on Monday. Bago Region Chief Minister U MyoSwe Win, the regional ministers, members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees and well-wishers attended the ceremony.

At the auspicious time, the Region Chief Minister and officials formally opened the new ShweSandaw Buddha museum and viewed around the displays of Buddha images in successive eras, palm-leaf inscriptions and other religious objects.

After that, the Region Chief Minister looked into the display of Shwe San Taw Digital Information Center by using the Software Program describing the history of Shwe Sandaw pagoda, the facts of umbrellas hoisting atop the pagoda and biographies of the Pagoda Ovada Sariya Sayadaws and called for installation of the software programs in Myanmar and English languages at the pagodas, stupas, religious buildings and archaeological zones where local and foreign visitors pay a visit.

After sharing merits, the Region Chief Minister and officials viewed around the pagoda. Under the guidance of the SAC Chairman Prime Minister, led by Bago Region Government, the Buddha Museum was constructed with the contribution of departments and well-wishers. The museum cost over 76.5 million kyats and it was completed on 29th December 2022.
