New Ambassador: Appointment of new Russian Ambassador to Myanmar

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on Thursday.

It stated that the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the proposed appointment of Mr. IskanderAzizov as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in succession to Dr. Nikolay Listopadov. Mr. IskanderAzizov was born on 1956.

He graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1978. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in 1978 and held various diplomatic positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Embassy of USSR in Singapore, Embassy of USSR in Malaysia and Embassy of the Russian Federation in the United States of America.

He served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia from 2013 to 2023. Mr. IskanderAzizov speaks Chinese, English and French languages. He is married and has a son.
