Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the Red Cross will be allowed to visit the remaining hostages in Gaza as part of the four-day truce agreed between Israel and Hamas in which the Palestinian militants would free at least 50 of the people taken hostage in their deadly October 7 attack.

In turn, Israel would release at least 150 Palestinian prisoners and allow more humanitarian aid into the coastal territory after more than six weeks of war. Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt welcomed the Qatar-mediated agreement between Israel and Hamas to pause fighting in Gaza in exchange for the release of hostages.
