Nepal restricts highway travel due to heavy rain and floods

Due to ongoing heavy rainfall and the increased risk of flooding and landslides, Nepal has implemented travel restrictions on key highways targeting nighttime vehicular movement. These restrictions are set to remain in place until October 6 to ensure the safety of travelers and residents during the adverse weather conditions.

The Chief District Officers in the affected regions have issued strong recommendations for the public to avoid long-distance and night-time travel unless absolutely necessary.  International travelers planning to visit Nepal are advised to check local weather reports and follow any travel restrictions that may be in place.
