Negotiations will only take place under fire

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas caused Israel's massive airstrikes on the Gaza Strip Tuesday. Netanyahu made the comments in a video released after the attacks. He said the Islamic group had rejected a US proposal about the ceasefire including the release of Israeli hostages.

Netanyahu said he had pledged to return to fighting if Hamas did not free the hostages. He said, from now on, Israel will act against Hamas with increasing intensity, and that negotiations will only take place under fire.
