Nearly 280 people have lost their lives in India heat wave

Indian capital, Delhi, has experienced a particularly hot summer this year, with the mercury soaring to 47 and 48 degrees Celsius. The cumulative effect of climate change and a delayed monsoon has been to sicken and even killed many people in the city. According to the latest reports, nearly 280 people have lost their lives.

The government has asked people to stay indoors if they can. Hospitals in Delhi, has created a heat stroke emergency room and one of the doctors said that on days of peak heat, the people get heatstroke. They are mostly those who required to work outdoors like construction workers and security guards.
