Three warships from Russia’s Pacific Fleet, which arrived in Yangon on November 10 for the third Myanmar-Russia naval security exercise and goodwill visit, have departed after completing joint drills.

On November 13, the Russian ships sailed from Thilawa Port to the exercise area to conduct practical training with the Myanmar Navy. The visit included meetings between senior officers from both navies to discuss mutual cooperation, information exchange, and training activities.

The opening ceremony of the exercise was held on November 12 at the Myanmar Navy Training Headquarters, attended by senior officials from Myanmar, Russia, and invited military attachés from China, India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

During the visit, a series of goodwill events were held, including football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, and tug-of-war competitions, visits to Shwedagon Pagoda, Bogyoke Market, and Junction City, and an exchange visit to the Russian frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov.

The joint maritime exercises took place on November 13 and 14, followed by a closing ceremony and review onboard the Myanmar warship Mottama before the Russian ships departed.
