Naval Visit: Myanmar joins MILAN 2024 and 6th IMNEX in India

The Tatmadaw Navy Vessel Sin Phyu Shin arrived back in Yangon on Wednesday after participating in MILAN 2024 and the 6th India-Myanmar Naval Exercise (6th IMNEX) in Visakhapatnam, India.

Led by Captain ZawOo, the naval delegation was welcomed back at No.3 Naval Pontoon (Thilawa) by the Commandant of Naval Training Base, officers, other ranks, and families. MILAN 2024 was held from the 19th to the 27th of February with the participation of 13 naval vessels and 1 scouting aircraft.

During the Harbour Phase, the delegation took part in the International Maritime Seminar, together with 47 other participant countries. They also engaged in the Subject Matter Expert Exchange Program, MILAN Young Officer Interaction, and International City Parade.

The delegation also exhibited cultural performances and traditional handicrafts at the International Cultural Show, as well as visiting Bodh Gaya and the Taj Mahal. The Sin Phyu Shin vessel also joined with other navy vessels from participating countries and conducted Sea Phase exercises.

Moreover, the delegation participated in the 6th IMNEX from the 28th of February to the 2nd of March, with harbor-based exercises, observing naval vessels, and conducting Sea Phase exercises in cooperation with the Indian Naval Vessel INS Kamorta (P 28). The total travel distance of the Navy Vessel (Sin Phyu Shin) is about 2,650 nautical miles.
