Natural Indigo Dyeing : Closing ceremony of Technology Training Course

The closing ceremony of Indigo Natural Dyeing Technology Training Course conducted by the Chemical Technology Research Center was held at the Department of Research and Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology in Yangon on 25th July.

Dr. Than Than Aye, Director, Chemical Technology Research Center said " During the training period, designers, weavers and we exchange research techniques to strengthen indigo dyes in Myanmar traditional fabrics. The course will support to export the Myanmar woven fabrics and improve the quality of natural woven fabrics dyed with indigo in local."

The training course was conducted the technique of producing indigo from indigo leaves and dyeing techniques using natural ingredients in theoretically and practically for the participants. 

Ma Khar, Participant said " Designers, weavers, and those who are interested come to learn the techniques from this course. Those who work in this field exchanged their personal experiences during the training, and it is very beneficial for us. Natural dyes and weaving techniques are difficult in reality and must be appreciated the woven fabrics."

A total of 27 participants joined the Indigo Natural Dyeing Technology Training course that was opened on 24th and 25th July.
