Natural Disaster Management: MOSRR Union Minister attends donation ceremony

The Tokyo based Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS), staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar citizens in foreign countries, Myanmar embassies and foreign partners companies donated cash for the areas affected by the Cyclone Mocha.

This cash donation took place at the Disaster management Center (DMC) on Tuesday and was attended by Union Minister for Social Welfare, Reliefs and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win together with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and many other officials.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs made a speech saying that ALFS donated through the Myanmar embassy about 621,000 Japanese Yen equivalent to 9,315,000 kyats, staff from the Myanmar embassies, Myanmar Permanent Mission Office, Myanmar Consulate General Office, Myanmar citizens in foreign countries, companies and organizations donated over 84 million Kyats.

And, Union Minister Dr. Soe Win expressed words of thanks and rehabilitation works in the cyclone-affected areas under the guidance of government.

Tatmadaw and Ministry of Transport and Communications have been carrying out transportation activities of donated aid from the international communities to the areas affected by Cyclone Mocha through Sittwe Township and the donation fund will be used effectively.

Then, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs presented the cash donations to the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. Certificates of honor were presented for the donation.
