





Chairman of Rakhine State Natural Disaster Management Committee, Chief Minister U Htein Lin together with departmental officials met with the people who affected by flood in Thandwe Township on Thursday. They gave the words of encouragement and provided necessary items.
The flood victims are now taking temporary shelter at the community hall of Su Taung Pyae Monastery. Then, they inspected the conditions of surging level of Thandwe River over the Dwarawadi Bridge and officials of the department of irrigation and water utilization management reported on the reasons of surging river water level, and the activities being carried out to improve the flow of water in Thandwe River.
The Chief Minister gave necessary instructions. After that, the Chief Minister met with people who affected by the flood and provided cash and kind assistance at the Shwe San Taw Taung Chay Community hall of No.4 ward. And he inspected the water inundation conditions in the low-lying areas in No.1 and No.7 wards, and gave necessary instructions.
Due to the continuous raining in Thandwe Township, the water level of Thandwe River has risen above the critical water level. The local people have been evacuated to safe places and the healthcares workers and local military personnel are providing healthcare services and necessary assistances.
