National Sports Festival: Students practice for performance during the festival

The 5th National Sports Festival is scheduled to be held in upcoming December in a grand scale.

In order to organize the Sports Festival successfully, students from respective schools are practicing their performances.

On 27th October, Chairman of Working Committee on Organizing the Opening and Closing Events, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn visited No.11 Basic Education High School in Nay Pyi Taw Zabuthiri Township to overview the dance practice of the students who will participate in opening and closing performances at the festival.

During his visit, the Union Minister encouraged the students to actively participate in their respective performances and instructed them to become reliable citizens who can contribute to the interest of the nation.

Swe Thandar Thwin, Teacher, No.11 Basic Education High School said "A total of 210 students form 5 basic education schools of Zabuthiri Township will participate in opening and closing songs performances of National Sports Festival.  The teachers and students are proud to participate in the festival as sports sector plays a crucial role in nurturing students to become qualified youths who possess five kinds of strength."

The 5th National Sports Festival will be held as a state level festival in grand manner with over 1,200 participants in staging opening and closing performances.

Thoon Yati Soe, Grade-10, No.11 Basic Education High School said "A total of 100 Grade 10 and 11 students from our school participated in today dance practice. The instructors and teachers train us systematically. I am proud of my school to be able to participate in National Sports Festival."

Thazin Htet, Grade-10, No. 5 Basic Education High School said "About 45 students from our school will participate in song performances. I would like to thank to the officials for organizing National Sports Festival to unite and bring us closer to each other and I’m also glad to participate in the festival.

The 5th National Sports Festival will be held from 9th to 20th December with a total of six types of sports at the ministry level and 23 kinds of sports at state and regional levels.
