






Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin paid a visit to the National Library in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday. During his visit, officials provided a comprehensive overview of the library's history and ongoing initiatives.
The Union Minister emphasized the significance of aligning the collection of local publications and literary works with the National Library Law enacted in August 2020. He stressed the importance of raising awareness and fostering cooperation among publishers.
Furthermore, the Union Minister highlighted the necessity of publishing the National Bibliography and advancing library development efforts, particularly through Interlibrary Loan programs with a focus on Southeast Asian nations.
He underscored the library's role in providing to the public's needs through both online platforms and physical visits, extending invitations to departmental staff, researchers, social organizations, and schools.
Following the briefing, the Union Minister took a tour of the library, exploring its various sections including the Alinkar Kyaw Swa Sithu Takkatho Myat Thu Literary Hall, Children's Corner, e-library and reading room, Bibliographic Services, palm-leaf manuscripts, parabaik writing tablets, and the Data Center.
