Nat’l Cancer Treatment Center: MoH UM inspected construction of NCTC

The Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win accompanied by the officials inspected the construction site of National Cancer Treatment Center in Dagon Seikkan Township on 18th February and the Deputy Director of Special Unit (1) for Building, Building Department under the Ministry of Construction clarified the status of construction works. 

Regarding with the clarifications, the Union Minister said that when this project is completed, as the cancer treatments will be better and increased including radiation therapy, it’s needed to complete in time, to address the better quality including safety of radiation and effectively using the allotted budget and the accessibility of electricity, road and bridges in the project area, convenient transportation of the staff members should be implemented simultaneously. And the Union Minister and Director  General of Medical Service Department coordinated requirements.

Then, the Union Minister viewed the completion of constructing Bunder to house 4 machines for radiation therapy and remaining buildings under construction.

Next, the Union Minister also inspected operation theaters, patients’ wads, laboratory and X-ray room, gave necessary instruction and inspected underground Bunker to store the radiation materials.
