NASA, InSight leaders share update on Mars lander

NASA's InSight Mars lander is expected to be inoperative by the end of this year, concluding a four-year mission on the planet.

During the mission, more than 1,300 marsquakes were detected - most recently a Magnitude 5 that occurred on May 4th.Scientists have also been able to measure the depth and composition of Mars' crust, mantle, and core. The lander has been operating on the planet since November 26, 2018, and is gradually losing power and anticipated to end operations later this summer.
